The Ultimate Free MacOS ChatGPT App for Students, Developers, and Writers
Access ChatGPT, Bard, and Perplexity AI from your Mac menu bar
Why I built Peek AI
Peek was born out of a simple need: to have a single, unified interface for interacting with AI chatbots. I wanted to create something that was easy to use, privacy-focused and didn’t require API keys. And so, Peek came into existence.
Peek is essentially a webview of the platforms, meaning it doesn't store any data itself. It’s just an interface, a conduit between you and the chatbots. This approach ensures your privacy and eliminates the need for API keys. You just log in with your accounts, and you’re good to go.
Switch between ChatGPT, Bard, and Perplexity AI
One of the standout features of Peek is its support for multiple AI chatbots. Whether you’re a fan of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Bard, or Perplexity AI, Peek has got you covered. Want to switch? Easy!
Access it literally anywhere on your Mac
Peek is designed to be always accessible, yet never intrusive. It sits quietly in your system Menu Bar, ready to be summoned with a simple ⌘+J. And when you’re done, the same shortcut toggles it off. This floating window feature ensures that Peek is always there when you need it, but stays out of the way when you don’t.
But that’s not all. Peek also allows you to take beautiful screenshots of your chats. With a simple ⌘+Shift+S, you can save a screenshot to your local machine. Or if you prefer, you can copy it to your clipboard directly using ⌘+S. It’s a small feature, but one that I had a lot of fun baking in.
Also, like I said — full privacy + if you use ChatGPT on iOS, your chats are always in sync 🚀
The Journey Ahead
It’s a tool that I created to scratch my own itch, but I hope it can be useful to others as well. So, if you’re a MacOS user who interacts with AI chatbots, give Peek a try. It’s a small tool, but it might just make a big difference in your workflow.
